Heidi holds a double degree qualification from the University of Adelaide in Media Studies and Commerce (majoring in Marketing). In 2003, Heidi attained her certificate II in general agriculture from Charles Sturt University, Katherine Rural College, Northern Territory. Following this, Heidi worked as a jillaroo for Macdonald Pastoral Company on 'Dunbar Station', North Queensland.
Heidi joined Sheepmeat Council in the newly appointed role of Media and Communications Officer in October 2008. This is a shared role with Cattle Council of Australia. Her family run a mixed cropping, wool, meatsheep and cattle operation on their stations located in the Western Division of NSW and Eyre Peninsula, SA.
